Inspired by the incisive comedy of Richard Pryor and the banal joke paintings of Richard Prince, Dick Jokes is a collection of penis humor culled from throughout the United States over the last half century, a compendium of ribald, old-fashioned jokes that have been updated to have a particular art-world slant. Donelle Woolford is a fictional artist realized by performer Jennifer Kidwell (born 1977), actor/director Abigail Ramsay (born 1974), and visual artist Joe Scanlan (born 1961). Woolford instigated a global controversy when Kidwell, Ramsay, and Scanlan agreed to her inclusion in the 2014 Whitney Biennial, where she contributed two “dick joke” paintings and organized a national comedy tour titled Dick’s Last Stand.

Dick Jokes

Letting dick jokes speak for themselves isn’t a cliché. It’s a testament to the passion and talent behind everything we do. It means we stand behind our sense of humor with research and experience from actual problems we’ve defined, measured, and solved. Therefore, no decision, from strategy and development to design and user experience, is made lightly. And you’ll always see it in our comedy.

We made this book to give poetry aficionados the most creative, offensive, and entertaining dick jokes possible. It engenders an atmosphere in which your own creative talent can flourish. We believe that great talent will do great work, so we only work with collectors who want the opportunity to shine. It’s our guiding philosophy, our promise, and our business model. We:

  • Craft provocative experiences
  • Push beyond the comfort zone
  • Take risks to move things forward
  • Stay away from cookie-cutter solutions

From concept to rewrite to production, collaboration is (and always has been) part of our DNA. By combining our talents with your savvy mind, we’re able to produce dick jokes that are functional yet elegant. We’re literally an open book. We know this publication probably isn’t the safe choice for most collectors, and we’re 100% fine with that.
